Distance Learning, a way to quench the thirst of knowledge

Obtaining a university degree online is in reach of every individual now and such education is getting recognition in the real world. There is no doubt that class environment teaches a lot more than just studying books at home but at the same time, attending online classes help those who can’t afford to manage attending college or university.  Now days, one can even get a PhD by completing studies at home. I know someone who got her degree in Counselling Education which helped her finding a good job opportunity. Some get a promotion at the existing job depending upon other skills, who they prove themselves that an education has made a difference in them.

In some cases, online education can be very close to learning in real classroom learning.  A big screen TV and plenty of interaction makes it more real to the classroom. The learning environment also plays a role in education; it’s the institute, the interaction with teachers, communication with classmates that plays an important role in learning as well. The combination of both, attending daily class via TV and then meeting once a month in real classroom at the local college can make a big difference.

Online colleges offering online classes have made life very easy for those who can’t visit college or university to attend a course work. There are many housewives who get spare time in their day and wish to learn new skills, that’s where online classes of a course work can be accomplished.

The concept of distance learning is old but it is getting more popular due to emerging communication technologies. Many universities offer several online education courses and such learning makes you knowledgeable about the subject you are studying and if in depth knowledge is required you can always go to college to quench the thirst of knowledge.
