Pros and Cons of Online Education; does computer with internet leads to class

Online education, as it is commonly known, can help you in overcoming physical hurdles to enhance your knowledge. As you progress in your profession, it becomes difficult to spare time for university to get an additional degree. It thus becomes necessary to have an alternative and online education fills this gap.

There are many advantages of online education. The major benefit is that you do not need to visit an institution for learning. All you need is an Internet connection to learn new things. There are no set class timings and this helps you in scheduling learning lessons at times that are most convenient to you such as late night and weekends. Many universities assign personal tutors that guide you through the studies. You may not need to appear physically in examinations as some universities rely solely on online testing and evaluation.

You will miss the opportunity to interact with other people. There will be no campus life if you are seeking an online degree. This means that you will have to rely on your own. There will be no classmates helping you in your coursework or asking for the same favours. The lack of human interaction may hinder your performance in the start. This is also the case with teachers as you can meet them online but not physically.

With the passage of time, however, you may get used to the new routine. Some universities have started classes for online courses that are held once a week or once a month. This plugs the physical gap between students and teachers. It is better to enrol with a university that retains some of the physical aspects of imparting education. This will enable you to strike a balance between the physical and online education while also benefiting from the virtues of distance learning.
